GLYNN RUNNER HUNTER WINS BIG JEKYLL MEET
The annual Jekyll Island Invitational featured some of the best teams from Georgia and South Carolina and was hosted once again on the Great Dunes Golf Course Saturday on Jekyll Island.
Glynn Academy and Brunswick High did well in both the boys and girls divisions.
Sophomore Jackson Hunter from Glynn blitzed the 3.1-mile course in 16 minutes, three seconds to win the boys race for the Red Terrors. He dominated the race and led from start to finish.
He has eclipsed records that he set last year, opening the season with a 15:43 and 15:47 in earlier races.
Glynn placed 12th and where led by Hunter, Cam Gazaway, and Cole Albright as the top three runners for the team, running 16:03, 18:12, and 18:21, respectively.
Brunswick High placed 27th as a team overall and were led by Tucker Teston, Eli Petravoy, and Marqayvius McNeal. They completed the tough course in 19:49, 20:28, and 21:59.

The top four teams overall for the boys were:

The girls race was just as challenging.
Glynn Academy placed 8th Overall. Abigail Winford, Laella Reedy, and Ruth Akins turned in solid performances, running 22:12, 22:29, and 22:33.
The Brunswick High Girls placed 20th overall and had some nice times as well from Sydney Haywood and Cheyenne Crosby, running 23:02 and 23:11

The Glynn County teams would like to thank Rogelio Quintanar for making this all possible year in and year out. Rogelio's Quintanar Running Company worked hard this past weekend to put on the race and has given so much to the youth runners in this county.
