The Brunswick High and Glynn Academy baseball teams will take the field on Thursday to open the Class AAAAAA state tournament.
The Pirates will be at home against Mundy’s Mill while the Red Terrors will be on the road at Rockdale County.
Both opening-round series are best-of-3 series. They will start with doubleheaders on Thursday with a third game on Friday if needed.

Brunswick finished second in Region 2-AAAAAA and will play a home postseason series for the first time since the 2006 season.
Glynn has been at home in the opening round the past three seasons. The Terrors last played a first-round series on the road in 2019 when they lost the first two games against Heritage.
Glynn won in the first round each of the last three years. The Terrors went to the Elite Eight in 2021 before getting eliminated in the second round the last two seasons.
Brunswick returned to the state tournament last year before falling in the first round at Houston County which went on to win the state championship.
