They finish out the regular season next Friday at Richmond Hill. The GA girls also finished atop the league standings again as they secured this year’s region championship with a 1-0 win last Friday at Grovetown. The Lady Terrors also went 11-1 in the region with their only loss coming to Lakeside-Evans. The Glynn girls are 13-1-1 with two games next week to close their regular schedule. They are scheduled to host Pierce County on Wednesday before playing at Richmond Hill as well on Friday. Tennis: The Glynn boys captured the Region 2-6A title last Friday with a win over Lakeside-Evans in the region tournament finals. The GA teams hosted the region tournament at their courts on the school campus. The Terrors are 17-0 going into the state tournament which opens soon. The GA girls settled for a runner-up finish in the region as they fell in the league final to Lakeside. The Lady Terrors are 14-6 overall heading into state. Track and Field: In last week’s Big Play Slay Invitational hosted by Brunswick High, both GA teams recorded top-5 finishes. The GA boys were third while the Glynn girls tied for fourth. For the GA boys, Damarion Robinson won the triple jump while Tyree Chisolm won the 110-meter hurdles. Golf: Both GA golf teams are eyeing their upcoming region tournaments. The Terrors and Lady Terrors both won state titles last spring. Baseball: The Terrors, ranked fifth this week in Class AAAAAA, will be looking to win their final two games of this week’s Region 2-6A series against South Effingham. GA dropped the opening game Monday by 6-5 in Guyton. Game 2 is tonight at Adam Wainwright Field while the third game is back at South Effingham on Friday. The Terrors are 15-5 overall and 7-3 in the region. They are currently tied for second in the region standings as they are a game back in the loss column to Evans. GA plays Brunswick High three times next week and Evans three times the following week to close out region play.
