BHS teams hosting Christmas hoops tournament

BHS TEAMS HOSTING CHRISTMAS HOOPS TOURNAMENT

By Kevin Price For GCS Athletics Brunswick High will have wall-to-wall basketball the next three days. The BHS boys and girls are set to host the Hoopin’ at the High Invitational which will take place Thursday through Saturday. The three-day tournament tips off at 11:30 on Thursday morning with seven games on the docket. The tournament will resume at 10 a.m. Friday with eight games on the schedule. The event wraps up Saturday with eight more games starting at 10 a.m. Both BHS teams are playing in the event. The Lady Pirates will open the tourney at 7 p.m. Thursday against North Paulding. The head coach for North Paulding is Wesley Willis, older brother of Brunswick girls coach Maria Mangram. The Pirates will play the final game on Thursday as they are scheduled to take on Ware County at 8:30 p.m. The Glynn Academy boys are also in the field. The Red Terrors will play Stephenson at 4 p.m. on Thursday. The complete tournament schedule is in the photo included with this story. Admission is $10 per day. A three-day pass can be purchased for $25. Tickets for kids are $5. Kids 5 and under are admitted free.
