IT'S BHS VS.GA THIS WEEK IN BASEBALL, SOCCER

A big week in Glynn County Athletics includes a pair of Glynn Academy vs. Brunswick High matchups.
This week, the BHS and GA baseball teams will meet to open Region 2-AAAAAA play. The Red Terrors and Pirates will play a three-game series that also will determine this year’s City Championship.
Game 1 in the series takes places at 6 p.m. tonight at Bud Couch Field on the Brunswick campus. The middle game of the series will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Adam Wainwright Field, which is the home of the Terrors. Game 3 will be back at the Couch on Friday with first pitch again at 6 p.m.
Brunswick is 5-3 on the season and comes in having won three of its last four games. The Pirates fell 6-1 on Saturday night to Locus Grove, the No. 5-ranked team in Class AAAAA, to close out the annual Baseball at the Beach tournament.
Glynn, ranked sixth this week, in the Class 6A Coaches Poll by Coaches Box Georgia, is 7-2 on the season and has won its last three games since falling 6-0 to Brookwood a week ago Saturday in Baseball at the Beach.
BHS head coach Greg Roberts is in his third season with the Pirates after previosly serving two stints at Frederica Academy and also coaching at Glynn.
GA head coach John Welborn is in his second season with the Terrors as head coach. He took over last season following the retirement of former head coach Trent Mongero.
Also on Tuesday, the Glynn and Brunswick soccer teams will clash on the new artificial turf at Glynn County Stadium for Region 2-AAAAAA matches.
The girls contest is set for 5 p.m. between the bricks with the boys matchup to follow at 7 p.m.
The Lady Terrors are currently 6-0-1 on the season and are 3-0 in early region games. The Terrors are also a perfect 6-0 and are 3-0 as well in region action.
The Lady Pirates are 2-5-1 on the season and 0-3 in league matches . The Brunswick boys are 4-3-1 overall and 0-3 in the region.
Glynn and Brunswick will play again on the soccer pitch on March 21.
