BHS, Glynn wrestlers still in running for state championships

BHS, GLYNN WRESTLERS STILL IN RUNNING FOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

By Kevin Price For GCS Athletics The Brunswick High and Glynn Academy wrestling teams will be sending wrestlers to Morrow this weekend to continue to compete for state championships The Pirates and Red Terrors both wrestled this past Saturday in a Class AAAAA state sectional where the competitors from every school represented had to qualify for the final site of the state tournament with a top-8 finish in their respective weight classes. The BHS wrestlers moving are listed below. Their places within their weight classes at the sectional are also included. - Joe Demery – 1st Place - Semaj Dobbins – 1st Place - Ryan Sanders – 2nd Place - Crosby Alderman – 4th Place - Tripp Rowell – 4th Place - Jaxson Schaefer – 5th Place - Jakobi Allen – 5th Place - Travis McCrimmon – 5th Place - Keshaun Lee – 7th Place - Joel Fuel – 7th Place The Glynn Academy wrestlers who advanced from the sectional follow below. - Connor Bee - 4th   - Phillip Harrell - 6th - Kyle Lafferty - 8th   - Matt Kennedy - 2nd - Brian Rewis - 4th - Kainoa Lau - 2nd - Caleb Cross - 1st - Cooper Reiss - 2nd  - Rob Flores - 7th The Georgia High School Association Traditional Wrestling Championships will begin Wednesday and continue through Saturday at the Clayton County Convocation Center. The Class A, AAA and AAAAA tournaments take place Wednesday and Thursday. The Class AA, AAAA and AAAAAA tournaments will be Friday and Saturday. The Girls tournament is also on Friday and Saturday.
