Volleyball season is part of fall sports schedule.

GA AND BHS READY FOR NEW VOLLEYBALL YEARS

By Kevin Price For GCS Athletics The 2025 volleyball season is about to get going for the teams at Brunswick High and Glynn Academy. The Lady Pirates will take the court first as they will play their opening two matches Thursday in Baxley against Bryan County and host Appling County. Brunswick will compete in the South Georgia Classic hosted by Lowndes over in Valdosta on Saturday. BHS has three matches scheduled in the tourney with contests against Colquitt County, Lowndes and Pierce County on the docket. BHS will play at home for the first time next Tuesday when it holds a 6 p.m. tri-match that also will feature Calvary Day and Savannah Arts. Brunswick finished 19-12 a year ago. The Lady Terrors are set to test themselves from the start as they head to metro Atlanta to play in the Sequoyah Classic on Friday and Saturday. Glynn is slated to play twice on Friday before playing three more times on Saturday. On Friday, GA will match up with Milton and Creekview. The Lady Terrors are scheduled to take on Harrison, South Forsyth and Northgate on Saturday. Glynn has its first home match scheduled for next Tuesday against St. Vincent’s Academy. Glynn went 24-9 and reached the Elite 8 of the Class AAAAA state tournament last fall. This year’s team includes seniors Kara Burandt, Riley Ferrell, Laura Beth Baldridge, Izzy Counsil, Emma Kok and Christiana Olive.
